3 lynn grillmair chimneys_2Lynn Martel is a journalist and speaker who explores stories that focus on the mountain environment—through outdoor adventure, historical biographies, social issues and current events, through nature and environmental science, and through mountain-inspired art, writing, filmmaking and personalities.

Author of 11 books, and hundreds of magazine and newspaper articles in dozens of publications, Lynn’s pursuit of a good story has led her to investigate fascinating landscapes from accompanying scientists on Canadian Rockies’ glaciers to trekking in the Peruvian Andes to Aurora viewing in Yellowknife—in January.

Making her home in the Canadian Rockies for three decades, Lynn’s photographs have been featured in museum exhibits, and she also shares her in-depth knowledge of western Canada’s mountain world through recording oral histories and radio segments, and as a professional speaker.
