Lynn and a super view on Takakkaw Falls rock climb- Copy_1Lynn Martel is a Canadian Rockies writer, historian and public speaker who explores stories that focus on the mountain environment—through outdoor adventure, historical biographies, social issues and current events, through nature and environmental science, and through mountain-inspired art, writing, filmmaking and personalities.

Author of two books of outdoor adventure, nine mountain biographies and hundreds of magazine and newspaper articles in dozens of publications, Lynn’s pursuit of a good story has led her to investigate fascinating landscapes from accompanying scientists on high alpine glaciers to trekking in the Peruvian Andes to Aurora viewing in Yellowknife.

Making her home in the Canadian Rockies for three decades, Lynn’s photographs have been featured in museum exhibits and on websites. She also shares her in-depth knowledge of western Canada’s mountain world through oral histories and radio segments, and as a professional speaker.
